Acupuncturist in Southport | Clare Trohear

Clare trained for 4 years at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York qualifying in 2003.

Clare trained as a Registered General Nurse, qualifying in 1992 and has worked in various fields including General Surgery, Ear Nose & Throat and Maxillo-Facial within the NHS.

Clare is a fully registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). The BAcC maintains common standards of ethics, discipline and practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the public at all times.

Since qualifying for practice, Clare has undertaken research in the field of acupuncture and has gained an MSc in Acupuncture accredited by the University of Wales.

She has also undergone regular postgraduate training in various modalities including the treatment of musculo-skeletal conditions with Alex Brazkiewicz. Over the past few years, Clare has undergone extensive training into Channel Theory which is extremely useful in the treatment of pain.

Clare was recently selected by the British Acupuncture Council to go on a 2 week training course to Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Harbin, China. Here she extended her knowledge and learnt new skills including scalp acupuncture which is very good for neurological conditions. Have a look at her blog here.

Clare has a special interest in treating pain with acupuncture, particularly arthritis in the elderly. She has also has an interest in treating long covid and post viral fatigue.
