Description
Persistent Musculoskeletal pain affects 30% of all adults, rising to 60% for those over 60. Pain medications only provide symptomatic relief, are not curative and may result in drug dependency. Though surgical procedures have a role, there is no guarantee of success and complications can occur. Contemporaneous research shows that the classic medical model has no solution for this musculoskeletal epidemic. However, lifestyle medicine has the tools to handle this. Lifestyle medicine is not a single intervention or procedure that will provide relief from pain or control arthritis. Lifestyle medicine is a collection of multiple small measures that, when collectively performed, provides improvement. This book focuses on 15 areas of lifestyle medicine that would be useful to help with arthritis and pain.
